Were Essure Doctors Instructed by Bayer to Lie to Patients

Essure doctors around the world have only one explanation when diagnosing Essure pain and that is that the patient must be crazy

Monday, January 28, 2019 - Thousands upon thousands of Essure women have experienced "device migration" where the birth control device becomes unlodged from the inner walls of the Fallopian tubes and migrates to the uterus, punctures it, and becomes trapped there. The uterus automatically produces contractions in an attempt to expel the foreign object but this only sinks Essure deeper and deeper into the delicate uterine tissues. Device migration can happen at any time but most often occurs just days after initially having Essure implanted.

When Essure women complain of the extreme cramps and the heavy bleeding that the punctures have caused, they are usually told by their Essure gynecologist that there is no way that Essure could be responsible and are sent home. Those that seek an independent opinion find that the device has migrated and become trapped in the uterus. Removal will completely alleviate the pain and bleeding but requires a complete hysterectomy. An article in Modern Health Care online magazine illustrates this scenario. When Essure patient Rina Kellogg returned to her gynecologist complaining of this type of Essure symptom, (her) doctor dismissed her symptoms as results of stopping hormonal birth control. She also told Kellogg, 33 at the time, that she was simply "getting older."

In another instance of Essure failure denial, Essure patient Amanda Rusmisell described her device migration pain as the worst she had ever felt and explained to CBS News "The pain continued, along with heavy periods so debilitating, she started to miss work. Her doctor told her it was likely just her age. Then when the symptoms persisted said she'd need a hysterectomy. She was 38." Essure birth control attorneys provide information and representation to women harmed by Essure birth control device.

Daily heavy bleeding, backaches, migraines and a host of other complications are the results of Essure migration. 40-year old Canadian Keri Ponace, reported heavy bleeding, severe pain and cramping so intense she could not care for her five children. When she returned to her Essure doctor for help she was told that she was basically imagining things. "He (her Essure doctor) said it's all in my head, that I'm thinking that there's pain there when there shouldn't be because the coils were in place."

And the story is the same for thousands of women that have complained to the FDA, written short essays on the Facebook group "Essure Problems," and posted comments on Essureproblems.com as well as have tweeted about their frustration at being taken seriously by their doctor. It was uncovered by CNN earlier in 2018 that Bayer, maker of Essure, has paid millions of dollars to doctors in legal yet highly unethical payments accounted for as "speaking or educational engagements" in order to build a business relationship with doctors that were supposed to give objective, unbiased medical advise to trusting patients. There is no telling what Essure doctors have been told behind closed doors to tell their suffering Essure patients. It makes one curious, however when all Essure doctors come to the same bizarre conclusion that the patient must be crazy.
