Doctors May Be Covering Up Essure's Failure

Essure doctors around the world continue to deny Essure causes complications

Tuesday, February 19, 2019 - Close to 20000 women have filed claims against Bayer, maker of the Essure birth control device, for compensation due to the suffering caused by the Essure birth control device. Essure victims are seeking monetary compensation for their medical expenses including Essure removal or reversal, travel, and lodging expenses that are not usually covered by medical insurance. Essure women also seek to be reimbursed for lost wages, pain, and suffering and punitive damages. Some Essure doctors have never even performed a tubal ligation or hysterectomy.

What may be the most disappointing of all is the degree of hubris and lack of Essure removal guidance coming from the device's manufacturer Bayer. The company continues to believe in Essure being an effective method of birth control and quotes the FDA as agreeing that the benefits outweigh the risks Nowhere are doctors advised or trained in Essure's removal. Instead, the company now stresses that the Essure device is permanently implanted and that it will require surgery to have it removed, that is if the device or broken pieces of it can be located in the first place.
